Probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics as immunomodulatory therapy agents in animal diseases
The line of research is focused on the study, in vitro and in vivo, of the immunomodulatory effect that probiotics, prebiotics and post-biotics exert during animal pathologies. In particular, the interactive effects that these agents have among themselves and with the host's immune system are evaluated, also researching new routes of administration (e.g. via aerosol, in ovo, enema, instillation, etc.) in order to stimulate some systems early and in a peculiar way compared to others. The aim of the research is to find new strategies to strengthen the innate and acquired defenses of animals, in order to reduce the use of antibiotics and chemotherapeutics
