Technological development and evaluation of the effect of innovative devices in veterinary surgery

The continuous development of surgical equipment and techniques that allow the invasiveness of the operation to be limited, the probability of complications to be reduced, and the surgical procedure to be facilitated, are elements of primary importance for scientific research in this field, with the aim of protecting the health and to improve the quality of life in both animals and humans, in full One-health concept.
Specifically, the research line involves the evaluation of the role of advanced technologies in soft tissue surgery, such as plasma surgery (Onemytis Airplasma), radiofrequency surgery (Bipolar Sealing Device, LigaSure), laser surgery (CO2 laser, diode laser, blue light laser).
In order to contribute to the development of surgical equipment and procedures, some fundamental aspects are considered such as clinical effectiveness in different anatomical districts and pathologies, the extent of the iatrogenic lesion induced by surgery, the algogenicity, the potential indications and complications.
