Chronic enteropathies in dogs and cats and gastrointestinal (GI) environment modulation

In the present research line, we investigate how gastrointestinal (GI) environment can influence the healthy status of an animal (and vice versa), and to which extent the use of complementary feeds (pre-probiotics) may help in modulating its composition and in managing GI disorders and associated dysbiosis. The study of new therapeutic approaches that can provide for a reduction in the use of antibiotics is also an important target of ongoing research.
